Google Ads agency in Franklin, Tennessee

The same people build the landing page, implement the tracking and run the bids. Most Google Ads agency work stops at the edge of the account, which leaves the two things that decide cost per lead outside the engagement.

The usual problem is tracking, not bidding

A typical inherited account has been running for two years, the monthly report shows clicks and impressions rising, and nobody can say how many jobs resulted. The budget decision each month is then a guess.

When we take over an account we check what a conversion actually represents before looking at bids. Often it represents nothing useful: a page view counted as a lead, a form firing twice, or phone calls not tracked at all.

Correcting that usually reduces cost before any bid changes, because it becomes visible which portion of the spend was producing nothing.

Two things decide whether ads pay before any bid does: the page they land on, which is a web development job, and where the lead goes afterwards, which is CRM integration. For traffic that continues when the spend stops, run SEO alongside it.

How we work · step one

Nothing launches until a test lead lands in your CRM

Before a campaign goes live we submit the form ourselves and follow the lead through: the event fires, the click ID is captured, the record arrives in your CRM with the campaign attached, and the value on it matches what the job is worth.

This step is routinely skipped, which is why many accounts hold eighteen months of conversion data that can't be trusted. We would rather launch a week late than optimize for a quarter against a number that was wrong from the start.

What the work actually is

What this Google Ads agency covers, in the order we do it

Five areas of work. The sequence matters as much as the individual pieces.

01

Local Services Ads

Pay per lead · trades and practices

For trades this is usually the cheapest place to start. You pay per lead rather than per click, the unit sits above the rest of the results, and Google selects who appears based on your profile, your reviews and your response time.

It requires verification before it can run: license, insurance and a background check. That takes about two weeks and is the most common reason a business is absent from this surface. We handle the paperwork with you.

As of August 2026 this product is moving inside Google Ads. That changes where it is managed, not what performs. The next section covers what it means for your account.

02

Search campaigns

The one people mean by Google Ads

Tightly grouped ad groups, exact and phrase match carrying the volume, and a negative list maintained weekly. Most wasted spend we inherit comes from broad match buying searches that were never going to convert, not from bidding errors.

Each ad group points at a page built for that search. Sending several different searches to one homepage roughly doubles what a campaign costs to run.

03

Conversion tracking

Events, values, CRM handoff

Form fills and calls tracked as conversions, tagged with the campaign and page that produced them, and pushed into your CRM with the click ID attached. That last part is a code change, which is why it is often skipped.

Conversion values are then set from your average job value and your actual close rate. Without them Google optimizes toward whichever form is easiest to complete, which is rarely the one that books work.

04

The Performance Max migration

Live now for home services · phased through 2027

Google is moving Local Services Ads inside Google Ads as a Performance Max campaign. Phase one began in August 2026 and covers most home services: roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pest control, cleaning, lawn care and moving.

Most of the account carries over. Reporting history does not, and it can't be recovered once lost. The window to preserve it closes when your industry migrates.

If you are in phase one this is the most time-sensitive item on this page. Ask us and we will tell you where your account stands.

05

Smart Bidding

Sequenced after conversion data exists

Automated bidding needs conversion history. Enabled too early it optimizes against noise and spends a month learning the wrong pattern. We start on manual or maximise clicks, gather conversions, then move to a target strategy once there are enough to target against.

A switch to a smart strategy in week one saves the agency work, not your budget.

What you get, every month

The scope, written down before you pay

Scope goes in the agreement before any money changes hands. It is written out in full below.

Month one

  • Account audit, or a clean build if there is nothing worth keeping
  • Conversion tracking implemented and verified end to end
  • Landing pages built or fixed before spend starts
  • Keyword and negative list, grouped tightly
  • Local Services Ads verification started if you qualify

Ongoing

  • Search terms reviewed and negatives added weekly
  • Ad copy tested against the page it points at
  • Budget set against how many calls you can answer
  • A report that opens with booked work, not clicks
  • The account and its history stay yours

Not included

  • A percentage of ad spend. We charge a flat fee, so spending more does not pay us more
  • Running ads at a site we are not allowed to change
  • Launching before conversion tracking is confirmed
  • Holding your ad account inside our agency ID

Frequently asked

Google Ads agency questions we get on the first call

How much should I spend on Google Ads?

Start from how many jobs you can take next month, work back to the number of leads that requires, then multiply by what a lead costs in your trade and area. That is your budget. Setting it from what you can afford rather than what you can service produces leads nobody calls back.

What is normal Google Ads agency pricing?

Two models are common. A percentage of spend pays the agency more when it spends more of your money; a flat fee does not. Ours is flat and separate from spend, covering campaigns, tracking, landing pages and reporting. Ask which model an agency uses before asking for the number. Our starting figure is on the pricing page.

How fast will I see leads?

Usually within days. That is the advantage of ads over organic search: you learn whether your offer works in weeks rather than months. Reducing the cost per booked job takes longer, and is what the first ninety days are spent on.

Why will you not run ads at my current site?

Paid traffic multiplies whatever the page already does. If it is slow, buries the phone number, or has no form above the fold, you pay full price per click for a page that was already losing inquiries. If we can't change the page, we say so before you spend anything.

Do I own the ad account?

Yes. Campaigns run in your account under your billing, with access granted to us. If you leave you keep the account, the history and the bidding data that history represents. Some agencies run client ads inside their own account, which means you can't take the history with you.

Is Local Services Ads different from Google Ads?

Yes, and for a trade it is usually the better first move. You pay per lead rather than per click, and you must pass a background and license check before it runs. It appears above the regular ads. We handle the verification, which is where most applications stall.

Should I hire a Google Ads agency near me, or does location not matter?

Location does not affect the account. The auction is identical from anywhere. What matters is whether the agency knows your market: which towns are worth bidding on and what a lead is worth there. When searching for a Google Ads agency near me, ask about the market rather than the address.

We already work with one of the bigger Google Ads agencies. What would change?

Two things. We audit what the account counts as a conversion, because on most inherited accounts some of them are not leads. And the landing page becomes part of the engagement rather than someone else's responsibility. Those two move cost per booked job further than bid changes do.

What happens if we pause?

The leads stop quickly. Paid traffic is rented, not owned, which is why we run organic search and your Google profile alongside it. Pausing loses nothing permanently, but after a long gap the campaign will not resume at its previous efficiency.

We work from Google's own guidance and the Local Services Ads requirements, because the rules that decide who shows are published and most people have not read them. The Performance Max migration above is verified against Google's migration notice and Search Engine Land, September 2026.
